Dragon Age 4: 7 Things To Expect

3. A Different Kind Of Protagonist?

In our brief look behind the scenes, some of the game's writers and developers referenced that fact that this time around, we'll be in the shoes of someone without power.

Over the years, we've become accustomed to carrying the weight of the Grey Wardens and the might of the Inquisition, so the thought of playing as your average Joe might seem a little scary to some.

Should we expect something more like Dragon Age II, where Hawke rises from nothing to a position of fame and influence, or something even more far removed?

After hearing Patrick Weekes, the game's lead writer, ask us "what happens when you don't have power? What happens when the people in charge aren't willing to address the issues?", it certainly seems that a rebellion of some sorts may be on the cards, with our protagonist at the fore.

It's certainly an exciting prospect, and it's a refreshing new angle for the franchise, still keepin the tone of the series thoroughly intact.
