Dragon Age Inquisition: 10 Reasons It's Saved The Franchise

3. The 'Best Of Both Worlds' Combat

While many fans fell in love with the tactical view mode in Dragon Age: Origins, it proved tricky to implement in the console ports. As such, the game's combat on the console ports wasn't a huge amount of fun, particularly compared to the feature-packed PC version. Dragon Age II attempted to rectify this by making the combat almost entirely focused on action, but this meant that the strategy that made Origins special was lost. Dragon Age: Inquisition has managed to balance the two beautifully. The tactical view has made its way to both PC and consoles this time around and, for the most part, it works well. There's a few annoyances with the camera, and it can be a bit finicky on occasion. Generally though, it's a very smooth process, and switching between controlling a single character in the thick of it before switching to the tactical view when things get rough is fun and rewarding.
