Dragon Ball FighterZ: 8 Overpowered Characters That Need Fixing
4. Frieza
Zoning archetypes are a long-standing component of the genre's rock-paper-scissors formula. They're the Kryptonite to heavyweight grapplers just as the latter is to eager rushdown types. Each eats the other for breakfast, so you can imagine what type of hell is unleashed when hybrid a-holes like Frieza exist.
Not only can the professional planet destroyer deny opponents from entering his personal space thanks to Earth Shaker and Death Saucer shenanigans - as he quite rightly should - but even if his competition spots an opening or capitalizes on a whiffed projectile, getting up in Frieza's grill won't provide the payoff it should.
Sacrificing close quarters efficiency for a top-tier ranged game is par for the course when it comes to his intended archetype, but your only reward for squeezing past the bullet hell is another, equally dangerous obstacle to overcome, Frieza's deathly-white fists.
Factor in that he gets further special treatment by way of an additional (and stackable with Sparking Blast, no less) comeback mechanic, and it's hardly surprising that he's become an early candidate for potential nerfs.
