Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC: 10 Things Fans Want To See
5. Substantial Side Quests
Great side quests allow the player to meet unique characters with mini adventures of their own. Their purpose is to give players additional, meaningful content to help flesh out the world and to tell cool stories that may not necessarily fit into the main narrative.
Unfortunately, the side quests in this game fail to do that. The rewards are crap, the experience points are minimal and the quests themselves are lackluster.
Many of these missions are typically not voiced and have boring, static cutscenes that do nothing to engage the player. The objectives usually end up being boring fetch quests or “go here, kill this” missions that have little to no impact.
The Dragon Ball lore is rich with interesting characters and to CyberConnect 2’s credit they have tried to utilize every character from the canon they could, but what’s the point of using a great character in the game if you give them nothing interesting or substantial to do?
As a fan, it’s so cool to see the big names, as well as other obscure characters like Android 8, Nam, Puar and Launch exist in this world, unfortunately, they just don’t always have much to do.
