It's almost like the game industry can no longer decide if it wants to forget The Last Guardian all together or maintain a shred of hope that the game will ever see the light of day. For a bit of a history lesson, the game has been in development since 2007 and was formally announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive back at E3 2009. Fast forward five years and the world has seen next to nothing new about the game other than the fact that it's being designed as a spiritual successor to Team Ico's other titles - information is admittedly scarce. Despite this, Sony continues to lead the world on. Rumours swirl about an announcement coming soon, then nothing ever happens. Then we hear the game is being canceled, only for a statement to come out that it's still in development. In fact, just days before E3, it was undoubtedly confirmed that the game was coming along and in development, hinting that maybe a reveal was in store at the conference. Instead, no news at all whatsoever. The Last Guardian makes the top of this list not only because it has been a question on everyone's mind at E3 each year, but also because it has managed to stay incredibly relevant despite having such a minuscule presence at each and every gaming event since its original debut. Hopefully none of these games become the next Duke Nukem Forever. Which titles were you expecting to see that didn't show up? Let us know in the comments!
