E3: 10 Huge Nintendo Reveals You Need To See

10. Nintendo Pack In The Smash Bros. News

One of Nintendo€™s most anticipated games, Super Smash Bros. finally returns year. It marks the first time a Smash Bros title has been released on a handheld (the 3DS shall be the host for this), whilst it it is no doubt one of the titles most people have been waiting for on the Wii U since the console first launched. For those of you following Smash Bros€™ announcements on MiiVerse, and across its social networks, there have been plenty of character reveals in recent months, so it was no surprise that Nintendo chose to hold some back for their E3 broadcast. Given a confirmed release date of October 2014, Super Smash Bros. on the 3DS and Wii U will now feature Nintendo€™s simplistic but cheerful Mii characters. This allows players the chance to battle it out as the Mii version of themselves, friends, family or even as a celebrity or character. During the presentation, game designer Masahiro Sakurai revealed that, rather unsurprisingly, he receives an abundance of requests from fans for characters they would like to appear in the game. Including a Mii allows players to create those characters themselves, meaning that in some respects, the character roster is even bigger than expected. Mii characters will also come as a choice of three different classes; the Brawler (empty-handed and up close combat), Sword Fighters (can chase down opponents and relish in swordplay) and the Gunners (equipped with arm cannons, and prove great ranged attacks). You can further customise your character by picking four moves, with a whopping 36 specials to choose from. Another character announcement was teased at the very end of the presentation, by the form of a short anime clip. Kid Icarus€™ Paultina will now be joining the fight-a welcome decision, considering the popularity of the Kid Icarus franchise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1K-WqQYw7w
