Xbox fans were excited to hear that the absurd, open world shooter franchise might come back, especially after its four year absence from the gaming world. And the reveal trailer that closed out Microsoft€™s press conference did not disappoint. Not only is the original creator of Crackdown returning to the franchise, but the game has a whole new look. Taking heavy visual inspiration from Tron Legacy, Crackdown 3€™s trailer also emphasised the absurdity of the franchise by blowing up two buildings to kill one criminal and teased possible co-op elements. It feels like a natural fit for the direction Microsoft is taking its games in this generation and another positive step away from the drab, colourless, super-serious games that dominated the previous generation.
