E3 2014: 17 Things We'd All Love To See Happen

15. The Rise Of New IP

There's a bit of a trend happens in gaming and - well - any form of entertainment. The minute something becomes popular, there's someone behind the scenes already drafting a sequel, then another sequel and the whole thing snowballs into one massive franchise with far too many entries. This trend has become increasingly more common in recent years, particularly towards the end of the last console cycle. We're now on Call of Duty: Umpteenth Entry, Assassin's Creed is on its 16000000th entry and there's many other franchises that are getting far too frequent for their own good. The best way to solve this? Lots of new and exciting IPs! Part of the reason that Watch Dogs is so anticipated is its something fresh and new; if Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are sensible, they'll use this E3 platform to show off some brand new games that they can milk for the next few years. New franchises such as the Order 1886 and Sucker Punch's Sunset Overdrive already look pretty good, but there's certainly room for more!
