After basically achieving global console dominance with their Wii console, smashing into untapped markets like never before and bringing gaming to the casual masses, Nintendo has really hit a massive road block with their Wii U. Honestly, it's a good bit of kit. Unfortunately, half the people who bought a Wii don't know it exists and the other half have basically decided they aren't interested because the power of the console simply isn't on par with the Xbox One and PS4. It doesn't help that Nintendo is being incredibly complacent about the whole thing; those who've bought a Wii U generally have to endure months of no games coming out before Mario pops along to save the day. Nintendo needs to do something drastic at this year's E3 to get interest back up. They need to bring out the big guns and show - just perhaps - that they can actually develop some new games exclusively for the platform. Sequel to Xenoblade anyone? If they don't, Nintendo is going to have a bad year. Let's hope they can get their act together and give us a reason to love the Wii U.
