E3 2016: 10 Things We Learned From Titanfall 2's Single Player Trailer
9. There's An Awful Lot Of Alien Wildlife
I hate to draw comparisons every time I see something that vaguely resembles another facet of pop culture, but the wildlife, flora and fauna of the locale Titanfall takes place in does seem very reminiscent of Avatar's Pandora.
Take this hyena-like flower monster for instance, not only does it look genuinely terrifying (please don't leave me in a room full of these, Respawn), it looks authentic. Whether or not the following sequence involving it getting munched on by a flying creature is scripted or spontaneous remains to be seen, but it's encouraging to see that it won't just be humans that inhabit this colony. If anything is being made abundantly clear, it would be that Respawn are determined to make this world feel unique and lived-in, a testament to their tenacity in pursuing the Titanfall brand all the way into a lore-building story mode.
Here's hoping for a big climactic set piece where all the animals fight back against an impending human force. Heck, maybe players will be able to use the wildlife against their enemies? If it worked for Far Cry, it can definitely work for Titanfall.
