E3 2016: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Bethesda's Conference
2. Doom (Finally) Gets Free For All Multiplayer
While Doom has received surprisingly strong acclaim for its thrilling single-player campaign, the divisive multiplayer suite has had a much tougher time of it.
Well, following reports just days ago that iD Software were taking control of the multiplayer back from contracted dev Certain Affinity, it was revealed at E3 that the online offering will be getting a ton of new content over the summer.
In addition to a capture-the-flag-type mode called Exodus, there will be another capture-based mode called Sector, and most excitingly, Free-for-All deathmatch will finally be joining the fray.
Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous that FFA wasn't in the game at launch, but at least it's being remedied in the near-future, and should see increased favour for the flawed-if-underrated multiplayer mode.
