E3 2016: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Ubisoft's Conference
5. Ghost Recon: Wildlands Is Basically Co-Op MGSV
Speaking of shooters, Ubisoft dropped some impressive gameplay from Ghost Recon: Wildlands, demonstrating how the game basically seems like a multiplayer version of Metal Gear Solid V.
Consider the similarities: you arrive at your mission area, usually on a hill overlooking it, can use binoculars to mark enemies and plan your attack (which can be either stealthy or full Rambo), use vehicles to transport to later mission objectives, deploy gadgets (such as drones) to confuse the enemy, and extract via chopper once your mission is complete.
Where things get different is with the multiplayer angle: your three comrades will all carry out separate but equally vital parts of the mission, and if all hell breaks loose, you can all converge to help one another out or chase the enemy if they flee (as happens in this frantic trailer).
The only problem is that what we saw was highly idealised gameplay, and while the game certainly looks fun, it's hard to believe that a session with randoms will look this cool.
