E3 2016: 6 Ups & 5 Downs From EA's Conference
1. EA Goes Star Wars Crazy
EA made it clear that they are going Star Wars crazy over the next few years. While Battlefront 2's existence being acknowledged wasn't a shock, a sizzle reel also showed off a new third-person Star Wars title coming from Visceral Games and Uncharted's Amy Hennig (due out in 2018), as well as another from Respawn Entertainment.
While it's possible we may end up feeling sick of Star Wars games a few years down the line and E3 actually didn't reveal much in terms of gameplay footage from these titles, this does somewhat cushion the blow of Star Wars 1313's devastating cancellation a few years ago.
Battlefront 2 is neither here nor there, but having a creative force as talented as Hennig working in this universe is mightily exciting. And that's without even mentioning EA's continued work on The Old Republic and Galaxy of Heroes...
