E3 2016: 9 Things To Expect From Spider-Man On PS4
4. It Could Pave The Way For Further Marvel Titles
Apart from Spider-Man and the X-Men, the rest of the Marvel Universe has never really fared that well in gaming. We had two Ultimate Alliance titles that were fantastic, but apart from Raven Software's dungeon crawling adventures the comic book company's properties have been dismally treated in the medium, having been relegated to innocuous button-mashing movie tie-ins for the great majority of their gaming entries.
Now that Sega have thankfully relinquished control of some of Marvel's foremost licenses it would be as good a time as any to start bringing them back, especially considering the ridiculous popularity the MCU is enjoying at the moment. Once obscure heroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage are now characters that could easily sell in vast quantities, and who better to launch their success than the wall-crawler himself?
A gaming counterpart to the MCU would only further solidify Marvel's reputation for taking their source-material to other mediums with fantastic levels of success, especially to an area where they've been lacking in recent years. Rather than relying on the guaranteed draw of their most famous character like Warner Bros. have been doing with Batman, making a discernible effort to take full advantage of the company's massive roster would be the best thing they could possibly do.
