E3 2017: 22 Jaw-Dropping Video Game Reveals You Need To Know About

11. Ori & The Will Of The Wisps

A somewhat completely overlooked gem of the current generation (simply because of the underselling console its been tethered to) MOON Studios' Ori & the Blind Forest is one of the best Metroidvania-influenced platformers of all time, with a stunning art style to boot.

For Will of the Wisps, it looks like MOON are once again tugging at our heart strings (the original had a really weighty, impactful opening), fleshing out the various species of the forest itself.

Gameplay-wise, Ori actually had a pretty innovative mechanic where your energy pool (used for projectile attacks) could be 'cashed in' to create a makeshift checkpoint for any difficult segments. It was perfect for the overall difficulty curve having the occasional spike, though Ori's real charm comes from getting completely lost in its gorgeous 'Studio Ghibli-meets-Pan's Labyrinth' aesthetic.

One to watch for sure.
