12. The Untitled Pokémon RPG On Switch

Though it was announced halfway as just a few words from Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, the news of a "full Pokemon RPG" coming to Switch has got fans talking like nothing else.

Will it simply be another title using the same engine as Sun & Moon and the various other 3D incarnations beforehand? Will Nintendo take the time to really amp up the very nature of a 'Pokemon RPG' into something that rivals the likes of Bethesda or CD Projekt RED's output?

At this stage we know nothing more than it being in development, though it's worth remembering Nintendo have shifted both Zelda and Mario into far larger game worlds than ever before (Mario Odyssey even has a minimap!), potentially hinting that Pokémon Switch will be a complete overhaul of what went before.
