E3 2017: 5 Ups & 4 Downs From Nintendo Spotlight

1. Metroid Prime 4 & Pokemon Switch Are Happening

What a time to be alive. Nintendo put Pokemon fans out of their misery by confirming that a full Pokemon RPG is in development for the Switch and due for release sometime next year. There wasn't a title or teaser trailer, but right now, the knowledge that it's definitely happening is enough.

That reveal had nothing, however, on the revelation that Metroid Prime 4 is finally, finally, finally happening, a decade after the last core title came out, with fans suffering through various undignified spin-offs ever since.

Sure, the logo is a chintzy-looking monstrosity that a Nintendo intern probably whipped together in five minutes before the show started, but at least fans can rest easy that Federation Force's failure hasn't scared them off from making more Metroid games. Samus Aran is back, baby!
