E3 2018: 10 Announcements That Would Change Everything

4. EA Revive One Of Their Best Franchises

EA has killed off more franchises than they have created at this point. With a pretty dry looking lineup, is it time they revive one of their best series of games?

That series is, of course, Visceral Games' Dead Space.

Both the first and the second entries into the Dead Space series managed to blend the action and horror elements perfectly, similar to a game like Resident Evil 4. They weren't the best-selling games in the world, but they delivered on something very specific and were greatly unique.

Dead Space 3 suffered the unfortunate fate of being meddled with by its publisher and market demands, which led to it being a not-so-scary third person coop shooter which had completely lost its identity.

With the death of Visceral Games, could a new Dead Space game actually happen? Absolutely.

A new Dead Space developed by a new team could work wonders for the company and its fans, as long as it focuses on what made the series great in the first place.

EA needs to look at the success of Resident Evil 7 and realise how amazing a new horror-focused game could be. Just ditch boring Isaac Clarke and we'll be all good.
