E3 2018: 10 Announcements That Would Change Everything
5. Final Fantasy VII Remake First Episode Release Date
Considering the tortured development cycle of this long-awaited remake, it'd be pretty shocking if it even showed up at all, let alone gave us a release date. Leave it to Square Enix to surprise us all, then.
With all of the problems Square have had with actually making the Final Fantasy VII Remake, a lot of gamers have written it off for this generation and assumed that it'll come out sometime next generation instead.
It makes more sense for Kingdom Hearts III to be the focus of Square's E3 presentation, but that doesn't mean they won't dedicate some time to their next big project. Quite the opposite in fact, as it's actually the perfect time for them to start hyping it up.
The absolute best way to do this is to finally give us something concrete, and nothing is more concrete than a release date. Square have decided to use an episodic release format for Final Fantasy VII, and giving us a launch date for the first chapter would be enough to keep fans happy.
