E3 2018: 10 "Problems" People Are Overreacting About
8. Fallout: 76 Being Online Only
Okay yes, Fallout may traditionally be an offline experience, but Fallout: 76 is different and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The fact that Fallout: 76 is online-only is a scary prospect, but that's just because we've never seen anything like it done in the Fallout universe.
Fallout has had spin-offs before, but never to the extent of what 76 aims to do. New Vegas changed a lot of stuff, but it didn't go online-only. With a franchise as beloved and important as Fallout, it's no surprise why people are getting antsy.
But before everyone starts screaming about 76's lack of NPC's and focus on base-building, why don't we just give it a try and see if it works? If Fallout: 76 ends up being a bad game, then it's fair enough and pushing it away is a fair response, but for now it's a game that's being passionately worked on and it deserves that first chance.
Did anyone think Fortnite would work as well as it does? Probably not, but here we are. Give things a chance.
