3. Gears 5 Is Releasing 2019

Microsoft nearly caused the legion of Gears of War fans to break out into a mad rage by first announcing that the franchise is getting a Funko Pop-themed mobile game and also a PC-only tactics game (called Gears Tactics), but they certainly saved the best for last by finally confirming that Gears 5 (dropping the "of War" from the title) is on the way.

The cinematic trailer revealed that the game will revolve around Gears 4's new inductee Kait Diaz, while also starring Marcus Fenix and his dull-as-dishwater son JD. Plot-wise it's all pretty speculatory at this point, though the brief snippets of actual gameplay shown off did look eye-meltingly beautiful, and are sure to give the Xbox One X one hell of a workout.

Gears 5 releases on Xbox One and PC next year, and yes, will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
