2. Cyberpunk 2077 Gets A Surprise Reveal

Just when it seemed like Microsoft was fixing to wrap up their show, they dropped a surprise final trailer, which appeared to "hack" the conference itself.

That trailer? Cyberpunk 2077, the long-awaited new sci-fi RPG from The Witcher devs CD Projekt Red. The brief trailer didn't seem to show any conclusive gameplay, but it did a great job setting the tone and aesthetic of the world, which looks both sprawling and colourful.

The open-world game will unfold in the dystopian metropolis known as Night City, and the player will control V, "a hired gun on the rise." It remains to be seen when we'll get our first unambiguous look at Cyberpunk's gameplay, but this was still one hell of an electrifying tease on which to close the show out.
