E3 2018: 10 Ups & 5 Downs From Microsoft's Conference
4. The Division 2's Cringe-Worthy "Multiplayer Chat"
Microsoft also gave fans their first glimpse of Ubisoft's The Division 2, which is set in summertime Washington D.C. and...honestly looks pretty decent (albeit incredibly similar to its predecessor).
However, in that embarrassing Ubisoft tradition, the game was presented by way of a "live demo" intended to showcase the game's squad-based, social multiplayer.
Cue a cringe-worthy, immensely forced scripted sequence in which four players awkwardly talk to one another in a way that no real Division players ever would.
The unnatural banter made it hard to just pay attention to the entertaining-looking gameplay. When will Ubi learn that most gamers find this nonsense utterly wince-inducing?
