E3 2018: 15 Best Moments
14. Devolver Digital's Insane "Conference"
After Devolver Digital's satirical faux-E3 conference last year quickly became the talk of the town, the offbeat publisher promised to return in 2018 with another dose of absurd insanity. And that they certainly did.
The 20-minute "conference" once again brought host Nina Struthers to the stage to savagely mock both money-grubbing companies and consumers who can't help but buy into their various means of exploitation (lootboxes being a major source of critique this year).
Hell, Struthers even shilled a new cryptocurrency called "lootboxcoin", which was actually available for purchase following the show (and predictably, quickly sold out).
The conference did in fact feature a few nifty-looking game reveals, too - My Friend Pedro looks awesome - though the focus was largely on lampooning the industry's grossest elements, filling the screen with blood, and even serving up an insane cliffhanger for 2019's show.
Given the rather stale nature of several of this year's shows, this was just the antidote E3 needed.
