E3 2018: 15 Best Moments
11. Devil May Cry 5 Is Real & Totally Ignores The DmC Reboot
Well, it finally happened.
Fans have been expecting a new Devil May Cry game to be revealed for literally years, and their prayers were answered during Microsoft's conference with a frenetic, intense and ludicrously entertaining trailer for DMC5.
The trailer confirmed that rather than serve as a sequel to the divisive 2013 reboot DmC, it will be a straight sequel to 2008's Devil May Cry 4, once again starring protagonist Nero but also featuring Old Dante in a supporting role.
Hideaki Itsuno, who directed DMC3 and 4, returns to helm, and everything Capcom showed off felt like a major return to form for the series. It's goofy as hell, it's ultra-violent and more than anything it looks like a ton of fun.
Fans have a bit of a wait on their hands, though, as it won't release until spring 2019 (realistically around a year from now) for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
