E3 2018: 15 Best Moments
12. Unravel Two & Fortnite For Switch Get Shadow-Dropped
The notion of "shadow-dropping" a game has become more common in recent years at E3, where a developer announces a new game and then instantly releases it online.
There were two significant shadow-drops this year. First off, EA announced during their conference that adorable 2016 indie platformer Unravel has a sequel, and it was made available immediately after their show. The game's fantastic, by the way.
Secondly, Nintendo made the widely-rumoured reveal that Battle Royale game Fortnite was releasing right away on the Switch. Given the game's immense popularity, it's a huge get for the Switch, and it runs shockingly well in both docked and handheld mode. Bravo.
Hopefully the popularity of these shock announcements should result in it becoming a more common practice in future E3s.
