E3 2018: 15 Last Minute Rumours You Need To Know
5. Square Enix Reveals A Guardians Of The Galaxy Game
Word of Square Enix publishing an Eidos Montreal-developed Guardians of the Galaxy game first emerged in early 2017, with reports that Eidos ditched development on a planned sequel to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in favour of the Marvel title.
Studio head David Anfossi further fuelled the rumours by mentioning that his team is working on an unannounced project in addition to Shadow of the Tomb Raider and The Avengers Project, and implied that it's based on an existing IP, but isn't a Thief or Deus Ex sequel.
Could a third-person Guardians game be introduced alongside the Avengers game during Square Enix's E3 show?
How Likely Is It?: Given how far back the rumours go, it seems pretty plausible, though at the same time, Square Enix may not want to over-saturate audiences by announcing two Marvel video games at the same time.
Nothing definite, but a distinct possibility? Absolutely.
