6. The Avengers Project Pulls A No-Show

Square Enix's "The Avengers Project" was first announced back at the start of 2017, and one of the bigger certainties of the company's E3 showcase was that the game would finally be unveiled.

Well, that didn't happen.

The game, rumoured to be a reboot of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance franchise, was nowhere to be seen in Square Enix's fleeting presser, to the crushing disappointment of many.

While at the time of press it's entirely possible the game will instead make its debut in Sony's E3 conference, this would've unquestionably been a neat announcement for Square Enix's own show.
