E3 2018: Every Conference Ranked Worst To Best
3. Nintendo
Much like Bethesda's show, Nintendo's Direct livestream was a real mix of highs and lows. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate looks absolutely fantastic and the Direct did a fantastic job selling it, but the demo also ran far too long, making it abundantly clear that Nintendo just didn't have much else to show fans.
The biggest sticking point is Metroid Prime 4's absence, as well as the lack of fun, surprising announcements (with leaks mostly taking the wind out of the show's sails ahead of time).
Fortnite getting shadow-dropped was great and it's always nice to hear about a new Fire Emblem, but ultimately the show was propped up almost single-handedly by Smash, even if Nintendo also made it outstay its welcome.
