E3 2018: Every Conference Ranked Worst To Best
1. Microsoft
And finally, Microsoft scarcely won E3 solely by way of serving up the most consistent, best-paced and least disappointing conference, even if it was hardly a fantastic showing from them either.
The opening Halo: Infinite reveal fell a little flat through its lack of follow-up information, while Gears 5's announcement was fine but not particularly interesting.
The biggest disappointment here was that Microsoft didn't sell Game Pass or the Xbox Brand as a whole hard enough. That said, the focus was on games, games, games, with over 50 titles being featured throughout their snappy show.
MS got the honour of debuting Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Devil May Cry 5, Cyberpunk 2077 and the new Battletoads, while Forza Horizon 4 looks rad, and acquiring four new studios (while creating a fifth) shows a firm commitment to the future of the brand.
Plus, we even got a vague mention of the next Xbox console, which was neat. It wasn't a great show that decisively won E3 this year, but it was nevertheless the best performance in a pretty mild year.
