Fallout 4 might've been a good game, but does that mean it was a good Fallout game?

The title, while hugely innovative in terms of the franchise itself, ran into criticism for its use of a voiced protagonist. Whether it be Fallout or Elder Scrolls, each Bethesda RPG has opted for a silent protagonist - a vital aspect in allowing players to immerse themselves fully in a world, whether it be New Vegas or Tamriel.

In taking that away, Fallout lost just a little bit of its own charm. And though Fallout 76 seems to lack avatars of the voiced variety, players are still being forced into a bottleneck of what to do. Settlement building is the name of the game this time around, and though there will still be quests, it's likely that most will have been built with co-op in mind.
