E3 2019: 10 Most Disappointing Video Game No-Shows

Where the hell was Fable 4?!

E3 2019 is in the bag and, well, it was certainly a show that took place.

Look, we could be snarky and point to games that had trailers, but might as well not have shown up at all, like Halo, Gears 5, or Avengers. Instead, we want to look at a few titles we thought were slam dunks... only for nothing to happen.

E3 2019 was, apparently, the year of the CG trailer.

A few months ago when Sony announced it was skipping the event, many sneered at the company and pointed fingers, but now it seems Sony was ahead of the curve. From the companies that did attend the showcase in Los Angeles, one thing was made abundantly clear: This generation is coming to a close.

Near the end of a console generation, the E3 before the next machines are shown off is always a bit of a bummer. Most studios are turning their attention to the next generation, and we're left with a few scraps to tide us over.

Of course, you could put together a sizzle reel of amazing games that were revealed, shown-off, and are releasing soon, but that won't change the fact that this E3 was a letdown.

10. Rocksteady's Next Game

This one would rank a lot higher on our list of disappointments, if we weren't told beforehand that it wasn't showing up.

That being said, it's still a major letdown, and truth be told we were all holding out a little hope that it would still show up at the Xbox conference.

Rocksteady, the genius studio behind the Batman: Arkham trilogy, hasn't released a game since 2016. That's a long time for a high-profile studio not to even show a cinematic trailer for its next project.

The anxious wait around Rocksteady's next title is compounded by the fact that we're almost certain it's a D.C superheroes game. For years rumours have suggested that the team's next game would be based on Superman, but that seemingly isn't the case.

Regardless, we'd really like to know just what it is they're working on. At this point we're assuming it's something cross-gen, and that leaves us to assume it's going to be revealed at the Game Awards, PlayStation Experience, or perhaps we'll have to wait a full calendar year for an E3 2020 reveal.

C'mon Rocksteady, don't make us wait that long. At least just let us know what it is!
