After months of rumours about the third Watch Dogs being set in London, this was finally confirmed with the extensive reveal of Watch Dogs: Legion during Ubisoft's conference.

The threequel will take place in a dystopian post-Brexit version of England's capital, focused on the efforts of average people staging a revolution against an authoritarian regime known as Albion.

The game's neat hook is that it features permadeath, and upon being killed, you'll be able to seamlessly swap to another member of the revolution, be they a former spy, a hipster or even a granny.

Though the game does still feature the series' divisive gunplay, there's a clear emphasis on players having more options than ever to navigate the world, with drones playing an especially significant role.

Despite some rather dodgy-sounding "mockney" voice acting, the game's visual representation of London looks absolutely spectacular, particularly a neon-infused replication of Camden Town, which could make for the most vibrant and immersive open-world the series has yet offered up.

Watch Dogs: Legion launches on March 6, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
