E3 2019: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know
19. Keanu Reeves Is In Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red indisputably blew the roof of the Los Angeles Convention Center with their eye-wateringly gorgeous cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, which concluded with the revelation that Keanu Reeves will appear as a mysterious supporting character.
As the wounder player character V is on the ground, a long-haired, sunglasses-clad figure tells him, "Wake the f*** up, samurai, we have a city to burn", before removing his glasses to reveal Reeves' familiar mug.
And better still, Reeves then appeared on the E3 stage to a rapturous crowd response - "You're breathtaking!" - before revealing that the game will finally be in players' hands on April 16, 2020.
In effect, Keanu pretty much won E3. His presence was all anyone could talk about on social media, and basically compensated for the disappointing lack of actual gameplay footage.
It remains to be seen how big Reeves' role in the game actually is, but regardless, he looks awesome.
