E3 2021: 7 Biggest Announcements From Square Enix Presents
4. Babylon’s Fall
After making Bayonetta, NieR: Automata, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance the last thing we expected from PlatinumGames was a live-service title. That's exactly what we got with Babylon's Fall.
Announced back in 2018 and originally slated to release in 2019, none of us could have guessed what kind of game Babylon's Fall would end up being. The Square Enix Presents showed us that the game would be a live-service title, with free updates being confirmed to come out after the game's release.
Hopefully Babylon's Fall doesn't end up relying heavily on microtransactions and with PlatinumGames' track record of stellar titles we can probably at least give them the benefit of the doubt.
Looking at what was shown off the gameplay looks great. It looks like it will be a blast to fight with PlatinumGames' signature style alongside three other friends. Whilst it appears to have a co-op focus, many will be glad to hear that the game can also be played in single-player.
Finally, the game which was originally going to be a PS4 and PC exclusive has been confirmed to also be coming to PS5.
