E3 2021: 7 Biggest Announcements From The Ubisoft Conference
1. Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora
A new Avatar game! No not Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Avatar with the blue people in it.
Back in 2009 Ubisoft developed a tie-in game to the original Avatar movie which served as a prequel. The game was called James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, which might win the award for the worst game title ever.
Against all odds James Cameron's Avatar: The Game was actually one of the few decent movie tie-in games, so Ubisoft eventually started work on a sequel, or at least another game that took place in the Avatar universe.
This game was announced all the way back in 2017 but this was the first time we got any information beyond "yep, it's a thing".
Using the new Snowdrop engine, Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora looks gorgeous. You play as a Na'vi who has to explore the Western Frontier as you fight off humans in an original story told in the Avatar universe. Nope this is not a tie-in to the upcoming Avatar 2. We don't know much about the gameplay other than the fact that it will be a first-person, action-adventure game.
Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia, and Luna in 2022.
