A lot of people are saying he should be near the front of the queue of people waiting to challenge Chris Weidman for his belt. While Jacare has been impressive in his Octagon outings there is one very irksome stat we cant get over: his 100 rating in submissions. Souza has had a lot of success in the submission department with 14 of his 20 wins coming by submission, but rating him a perfect 100 seems a little generous. Surely 100 should just be reserved for those souls who have only won fights by submission. Arguably, Souza isnt even the best submission artist in the UFC. Guys who are renowned for having really astounding jiu-jitsu are rated below him such as Frank Mir (97), Demian Maia (97) and perhaps most shockingly of all Ronda Rousey (98). Giving Souza a 100 rating in submissions makes it seem like he will literally be indestructible and will be the sort of character annoying players online will use and attempt to spam submission attempts with. Perhaps what is the most striking about this is that no other fighter on the game holds a 100 rating in any category so for Souza to have been given perfect submissions is all a little bit strange. Indeed in his last fight he spent the best part of all three rounds on the mat with Francis Carmont a man who has been submitted several times before and was unable to force him to tap out.
