EA Sports UFC: 10 Fighters Who Must Be Downgraded

4. Nate Diaz (at Lightweight)

Overall: 91Striking: 88Ground: 89Submissions: 95 The only person other than the team at EA Sports who would believe that Nate Diaz is deserving of this munificent rating would be Diaz himself. The vociferous lightweight€™s only win in the last two years was against a severely diminished Grey Maynard and before this fight he had been demolished by both Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson. Despite being all over Diaz before handing the TUF 5 winner the first TKO loss of his career, Thomson was inexplicably given an overall rating of 89 in EA Sports UFC. After beating Grey Maynard, Diaz made MMA news earlier this year as he refused to take a fight with rising young prospect Khabib Nurmagomedov. With his impressive Sambo and Judo credentials, Diaz joined the long list of fighters who had refused to fight the intimidating Russian. Despite his refusal to fight Khabib, Diaz has still been rated as his superior by EA Sports. Though it is hard to question that 95 submissions stat as Diaz €“ with his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu €“ has shown himself to be a devastating finisher on the mat, there can be no doubting that the 29-year-old has been overrated. Suggested Overall Rating: 87
