Elder Scrolls: 10 Best Oblivion Quests

7. A Brush With Death

Genuinely creative and memorable quests like A Brush with Death are exactly the reason why Oblivion's collection of side missions are far better than those of Skyrim.

The quest starts off fairly unremarkable, with players overhearing rumours of a painter out in Cheydinhal who has gone missing. Investigating his house and talking to the man's wife will reveal to players that the painter had locked himself in his studio and was yet to come out. Exploring the painter's studio and clicking on his latest painting will suddenly transport the player to a whole new world, designed in a unique watercolour-like art style.

The player will find the trapped artist and be told that they need to locate his special paint brush in order to get the two of them home. The only problem is that the paintbrush has been stolen by a thief and is guarded by six troll paintings.

From the hard work in creating a whole world, art style, items and characters, to the fact that you can let a whole collection of painted trolls out into the world of Cyrodiil, A Brush with Death has no right being as awesome as it is.
