Elder Scrolls: 5 Things To Thank Oblivion For (And 5 That Sucked)
9. Bad - Character Models
A lot of the character models in Oblivion look a little… strange.
Having heads that often resemble some type of plasticine model and skin tones that can mismatch across the body, these issues really destroy your immersion.
While these problems are quite obvious in the game, the first time you will encounter them is in the character creation screen. Some people are quite happy to make wacky and strange creatures to play for dozens of hours, but not everyone.
A lot of people like to put time and effort into creating a character, because after all, they are going to be playing them for the whole game. Sure, there face may be hidden under a helmet and you will be playing in first person the whole time, but you will know it’s there.
It’s going to bother you the whole time.
Unfortunately, a combination of strange character models and odd controls on the character creation screen often leads to unexpected results. Your character may end up inadvertently looking like a cross between Shrek and a potato.
Many things were great in this game, not this.
