Elder Scrolls 6: 10 Phenomenal RPGs Bethesda Must Learn From

1. Don't Be Afraid To Build Around What Works - Fallout 4

With some of the criticism levelled at Fallout 4 highlighting the fact that it didn't deviate massively from the formula of its successful predecessors, Bethesda may be reluctant to make that same mistake twice. They'd be foolish to do so, however, even if critics would have them believe otherwise.

Fallout 4 was the continuation of Bethesda's other mammoth series, and it arrived on a wave of critical and commercial success. A few consumers felt as though there were too many core similarities between this and older Fallouts 3 and New Vegas, but when the older versions are so good, then what's the harm in replicating some of the successful formula?

The Elder Scrolls VI has an immediately comparable standing, but shying away from mirroring a lot of Skyrim's successes could do more harm than good. Sure, I've highlighted problems that need to be fixed, but so much was good about Skyrim that a sequel offering polished versions - or 'more of the same' - would still be enough to see it labelled a triumph.
