Elder Scrolls: Every Daedra Lord RANKED From Worst To Best

2. Hermaeus Mora

The most Lovecraftian of the Daedra Princes is Lord of Forbidden Knowledge and delves the deepest into those ambiguous horror moments that crop up now and then in Elder Scrolls.

Mora plays a particularly prominent role in Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC, though even lesser appearances of this Prince have the tendency to stick in the mind, as well as unnerve.

More often than not appearing as a confusion of eyes, void, or tentacles, Hermaeus Mora leans into the horror vein which gets tapped into far less often than it ought to in Elder Scrolls, and never seems to disappoint. More often than not, for mysterious reasons, the player is tasked with collected blood or souls for Mora. It is considerably more ghoulish than the series often broaches, and the change is welcome.

Mora's artefact, the 'Oghma Infinium,' is a strange book which contains inestimable knowledge. Having your character read the book grants skill increases in an excellent fusion of storytelling and mechanics which you don't see often; the forbidden knowledge alters your actual playing experience. It is excellent design and writing.
