Elder Scrolls: Every Daedra Lord RANKED From Worst To Best

16. Peryite

Despite how impressive being called the 'Lord of Pestilence' sounds, even in-world Peryite is considered to be a bit lame, by other Daedra no less. You get the impression that Peryite appears in the form of a dragon as a sort of overcompensation mechanism.

There's surprisingly little to say about Peryite beyond that a goddess gives them the souls of skeevers after they die, and being the caretaker for rat spirits is hardly a major boon to call home about. There's definitely potential for Peryite to be put to some good use in later titles, though presently, there's nothing much to say in their favour.

Take their Skyrim quest, for instance: you come across 'afflicted' and are directed to the Shrine, then must prepare the offering to speak with the Daedra. So far so good. But thereafter, things descend into a basic 'go here, kill this person, come back, and I'll reward you.'

Though Taskmaster of the Planes of Oblivion sounds suitably fantasy-lofty, Peryite seems to be a sort of otherworldly admin; a demonic member of staff on the highest branch of spiritual middle management. That he can give you a cool shield saves him, just, from the bottom spot.
