Elder Scrolls: Every Daedra Lord RANKED From Worst To Best
15. Mephala
Mephala, the Webspinner, is like Peryite in having an excellent nickname that they don't quite live up to. Daedric Prince of lies, sex, murder, and secrets, perhaps; the lore suggests that their real sphere may be obscure to mortals. All this is very good, so how does this potential get utilised in the games? Eh... not as well, really.
Think of 'The Whispering Door' quest. The Jarl's son is a strange child, his behaviour becoming more and more worrisome. You are to discreetly investigate. So far so good.
Then the son tells you there's a woman behind a door, but he can't open it. You investigate, and you too hear the voice. It bids you find a way to open the door. Intriguing... so you investigate more and find a way to open this strange, hidden door, tucked away in a corner of the palace basement.
And what's inside? A big blade. A blade that isn't all that great by the time you've reached the level the quest triggers. Oh. Great.
Yes, the blade gets better the more you 'betray' people with it, but as this function isn't part of the quest, it just feels a bit 'why bother.' Likewise with Mephala.
