Every 2020 Video Game Delayed Into 2021
Halo and Deathloop are delayed until 2021? How can 2020 possibly get any worse?
It's pretty safe to say that 2020 has been quite a turbulent year. Once the effects of the ongoing global crisis started leading to lockdowns across the globe, many different industries came to a halt as people were unable to work in their usual environments. But back in March, when more and more films were being delayed almost daily, we heard very little about any video game cancellations.
That was until recently. Now we have been sadly informed that games that we have been waiting for for years will not be in our hands anytime soon. However hile many of these delays can be credited to the impact of 2020, some of the games that have been postponed until next year have their own reasons for delaying their release.
At the end of the day it's better for a game to get all the development time it needs rather than rushing it out the door as soon as possible, but it doesn't make it any less disappointing when you're eagerly awaiting to play a title that you've been waiting for. Here's a list of games that have been delayed into 2021.
7. Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones is a pirate based action game that was actually first announced in 2017 with a planned release in late 2018. Looking not all that different to Sea of Thieves, it seemed that these two pirate games would be going head to head upon their respective releases. Except in mid 2018 the game was pushed back to 2019, meaning it would be realising a year after Sea of Thieves.
However, the game was then further pushed back to 2020. See where this is going?
You guessed it, the game was delayed once more. The CEO of Ubisoft confirmed that the game wouldn't be making it's 2020 release after all, and instead the game would be aiming to release between 2021-2022, a possible four years later than planned. While that is a very substantial delay, it might actually benefit the game as it puts more time between it and Sea of Thieves, meaning it's less likely to be competing for attention.
Then again with so many delays happening already, it does make you wonder if we'll ever see a release for the game.
