Every FromSoftware Soulsborne Game Ranked Worst To Best

5. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Elden ring
Activision

Sekiro is the first true masterpiece you’ll see on this list; it takes everything that makes a Souls game tremendous and gives it fresh new twists.

Unlike the inherently western settings of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Sekiro has a much more local location for Miyazaki, taking place in the Sengoku era of Japan and following a shinobi as he attempts to take revenge on a samurai clan.

The game has a much heavier focus on parrying and stealth, ditching the previous class system and making the game all about pure and raw skill, creating a satisfying difficulty curve.

The areas are breathtaking; the bosses are some of the most difficult yet in the series, with some sections that will leave you in tears from the frustration. Not to mention that the game features one of the most developed stories Miyazaki has given us.

Sekiro might be the most experimental entry in the series. However, even with this, it still manages to get everything a Souls game should have proper while applying new and compelling mechanics that make it extremely fun to play.
