Every Major 2017 Video Game - Ranked By Anticipation
5. Resident Evil VII
The game that's arriving soonest out of all these on this list, RE 7 has the potential to re-right the ship as far as the franchise itself is concerned.
For years, Resident Evil has been a bit of a laughing stock, especially considering its sixth instalment was an overly macho mishmash of set-pieces, quick-time events and fighter jet dogfights, resulting in a campaign that had about as much to do with Resident Evil as Metal Gear Solid does subtlety.
With RE 7, we're heading back to a mansion as the main location, the jump-scares and actually iconic enemies are back in abundance, and - best of all - there's not a cheesy one-liner or mutated slab of meat in sight.
