Every Major Video Game Of Q1 2019 - Ranked

15. Jump Force

Jump Force
Bandai Namco

On paper this was a dream come true. Characters from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh and scores of the most popular anime on the planet, all playable and duking it out in a brawler-style setup with the most OTT moves possible. You'd get to create a custom character so YOU can hang with the heroes you know and love, and yet... it all falls apart.

Feeling like developers Spike Chunsoft had some major hiccup during development, storytelling and cutscene animation across the board is amateur at best. Character models barely move as generic dialogue doesn't make you feel anything. The game's menus and overall presentation is simplistic and uninspired, and even combat devolves into a repetitive slog after you've traded only a handful of blows.

Some bizarrely awkward gameplay meshes with a story that doesn't make a whole lot of sense from moment one, resulting in something that feels entirely like too many cooks spoiling what should have been a feast for millions.
