7. Ethan Winters
Ethan is pretty damn low on the totem pole as far as RE protagonists go: he's got nothing on Chris, Jill, Leon, or Claire, though in large part the toned-down everyman approach seems by design, and of course, the first-person perspective limits how much we'd see him anyway.
Ethan gets points for his hilarious wise-cracks which help balance the game's tone, but he's also a bit of a dope when it comes to convincingly reacting to things, like having to axe his own wife in the face.
His being presumably still infected at the end of the game is definitely a tantalising tease that we'll hopefully find out more about in future DLC or even a future game, but he's really just a fairly generic player substitute at the end of the day.
