17. Red Harlow - Red Dead Revolver

As a rule, cowboys are cool video game protagonists, but sometimes all that horse riding and gunslinging is simply used to mask an unimaginative character. Red Harlow is a prime example of this, and could perhaps be considered the most clichéd of all Rockstar's protagonists. He's got a gritty backstory (both parents were killed by evil Colonel Darin), a cool disfigurement (the scorpion-shaped burn on his hand), and about three lines of dialogue. Like James Earl Cash, Red's a man of disappointingly few words, a huge let down considering the vibrancy of the game's setting. Thankfully, Rockstar would do much better next time around, as we'll see later on...
